Meet Our Veterinarians

  • Dr.
    James Love

Dr. James Love has strong ties to the community and to the town of McConnells.  His family has been living in York County since before the Revolutionary War.  His only time away from the area was to attend Clemson University for his B.S. degree and to attend Tuskeegee University for Veterinary School. Whenever he has the chance to discuss Clemson sports, he will gladly take the time to try to convert you if you are not already a fan!  He is known for his 'laid back' attitude and always has a joke on the tip of his tongue.  Dr. Love enjoys surgery and in particular some of the more difficult orthopedic surgeries.

He can be reached at James@palmettovet.com

  • Dr.
    Karen Stallings

Dr. Karen Stallings was born in Sumter, the daughter of an Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, and then moved to York in 2000. Karen graduated from Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!) with her B.S. and D.V.M. degrees. She is an avid sports fan (Auburn, UNC Tarheels, Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, and Carolina Panthers) and loves to play golf. Karen has 2 dogs (Mulligan and Arnie) and 4 cats (Max, Boo Kitty, Tiger and Putter) If you ever need someone to play golf with, she is always available for a tee time!

  • Dr.
    Sean Stewart

Dr Stewart joined the team in 4/2019. He graduated from Clemson University with his B.S. Degree and Georgia University with his DVM Degree.

  • Dr.
    Jonathan Blanton

Dr. Jonathan Blanton joined our team as a part-time associate in May 2019.  A native of Rock Hill, he graduated from Northwestern High School in 1998 before attending Clemson University.  He graduated from Clemson in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and then moved to the island of St. Kitt’s in the West Indies (Caribbean) to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.  After 2 ½ years on the island he returned to the mainland to finish his clinical year at Louisiana State University and graduated a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Over the past nearly 11 years he has been practicing in Greenville, SC as a full-time associate, before moving back to Rock Hill in 2019.  Dr. Blanton has always enjoyed animals, having had many dogs, cats, birds, a rabbit, ferret, and various other pets throughout his life. He has a particular fondness for birds, receiving his first official pet (Sonny), a Latino cockatiel for his 8th birthday, whom he lost about 4 years ago at the age of 26.  He currently lives with his family here in Rock Hill, and works with multiple practices part-time.
